Shine was from our first litter, sired by Ch Bushman Better Be Boss (Forrest), and his Dam is Ch Bushman Tempted To Tease (Ash).

Shine even to this day is the biggest winning Flat Coated Retriever in South Australia.

Some of his biggest wins include, winning BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW, at the Flat Coated Retriever Assoc of Vic. in 1999. Then BEST JUINOR IN SHOW, also at the Flat Coated Retriever Assoc. of Vic. in 2000.

Shine was only shown lightly in 2001 & 2002, still managing to win many BOB's including at the Gundog Club of SA in 2002, where there were 12 Flat Coats entered, under Mr G R Forsyth (NSW).

He dominated the show ring at breed level in 2003, picking well over 300 challenge points, but 2004 was to be his alone, winning a staggering 524 points!!  His wins in this magnificent year included 10/7/04 at the Murray Valley K C, open show, were he started his great run by winning RU BEST IN SHOW under Mrs J Dunbar (SA).  Only one week later at the Setter Club of SA (show for all gundogs) Shine did what no other Flat Coat had before or since in South Australia by taking out BEST IN SHOW (over 200 entries) under Mrs M Doppelreiter (Austria).  But he again created history in South Australia at the 2nd biggest show in Australia the Adelaide Royal Show under Dr Goran Bodegard (Swd) were Shine won 3 RD BEST IN GROUP (over 600 gundogs entered!!). 

2 Weeks later 28/9/04 Shine, won RU BEST IN GROUP under Mrs C Butler (NSW), and the very next week, he gained his GRAND CHAMPION title by winning BEST IN GROUP under Mrs G Goller (Qld).  Another 2 weeks later Shine won Best Of Breed at the Gundog Club of SA (14 flat Coats entered) and also won BEST RETRIEVER IN SHOW.  Another week later Shine won RU BEST IN GROUP under Mr J F Kerley (SA).

In 2005 Shine was only lightly shown making way for our youngsters, but managed RU BEST IN GROUP in Feb. Under Mr J F Kerley (SA). 

He was very lightly shown in 2006, and in 2007 came out for some of our bigger shows, and he won RU BEST IN GROUP under Mrs A Hennigan (Canada) at the prestigious Autumn International.  And also won BEST IN GROUP in April  under Mr K Iggleden (Qld).

Some of Shine's award include joining the 500 club for the Flat Coated Retriever Assoc. of Vic for gaining 500 challenge points in 2003.  In 2004 Shine won TOP SHOWING GUNDOG DOG for the Gundog Club of SA.  He also won INTERSTATE SHOW DOG OF THE YEAR, Flat Coated Retriever Assoc of Vic. Only very narrowly missing out on Show Dog of The Year. 

Shine has sired only 2 litters, the first to Ch Bushman Skys The Limit (Envy), from this litter we kept Skyehaven Up The Ante (Cruiz) who easily gained his title and was very successful winning a BEST IN GROUP and class in shows!!  Kirstin Gurner took in parntership Skyehaven Fortune Shines (Zada) who is currently SA's biggest winning bitch, she won BEST IN GROUP in 2007 and has multiple class In Groups.

Shine sired his second litter with Ch Skyehaven Legal Eagle (Karma), Skyehaven Shine On (Blade) went to Colin Ross in partnership were he successfully showed him to his title and won some excellent BOB's along the way.

Shine is now retired after the Gundog club of SA, Championship show under Ms Margo Jaakkola (Finland) where he won BEST VETERAN IN SHOW!! 

He is a dog with a fabulous temperament a superb top line and lovely movement, covering the ground with ease even at 8 1/2 years old.  And he always shows with all his heart.
